Architectural design

Architecture is a scientific, technical and artistic discipline devoted to creating environments suitable for human life and activity, and to reflecting on the questions this raises. In theory and practice it combines the three fundamental principles that Vitruvius wrote down more than 2,000 years ago, so that the result is a high-quality spatial solution and a high-quality living environment. These are the principles of firmness, commodity and delight. They can also be seen as the supporting pillars of architecture, and all three are inseparably connected. Beauty – the aesthetic dimension – is not a decorative addition to a useful, solidly built structure. It is an integral part of the demands for firmness and usefulness, binding them into an inseparable architectural and environmental whole: a high-quality spatial solution and living environment. Such a solution also has great cultural significance for society and the country.
