Graphic design

Graphic design is a creative process – usually involving the client and the designer – that typically ends in a production format (a print, a digital product, etc.). The term “graphic design” can also refer to many artistic and professional disciplines that focus on visual communication and presentation. Various methods are used to create and combine words, symbols and images into a visual representation of ideas and messages. A graphic designer uses typography, visual communication and different layout techniques to create a product.

Typical uses of graphic design include identities (logos and brands), websites, publications (magazines, newspapers and books), advertisements and product packaging. A product as a whole typically combines a logo or other artwork, organised text and clean design elements such as shapes and colours.
