Architectural design
Architecture is a scientific, technical and artistic discipline that is dedicated to creating an environment that is suitable for human habitation and activity and to thinking about the issues related to this. In its theory and practice, it is able to connect three fundamental principles, which were written down by Vitruvius more than 2000 years ago, in such a way that as a result of this connection, a quality spatial solution and a quality living environment can be created. These are the principles of solidity, usability and beauty. We can also define them as the supporting elements of architecture. All three elements are inextricably linked in architecture. Beauty or the aesthetic moment is not a decorative addition to a useful and solidly built object. It is that integral part of the requirements for solidity and usability that connects them into an inseparable building and environmental unit, which can be defined as a quality spatial solution and a quality living environment. Such a solution or environment also has exceptional cultural significance for society and the state.
