
Preparing for printing
PRINTED MATERIALS ORDER SPECIFICATION
The specification that is part of the request for printing services should include:
- indication of dimensions,
- volume (number of pages),
- number of pages of the cover (if the printed matter has a cover or covers),
- number of printing colors (especially for the cover and interior),
- indication of any additional colors (in addition to CMYK),
- type of paper (including paper weight in g/m2) or material (especially for the cover and interior),
- binding method (wirebound, paperback, sewn, spiral binding, ...),
- any processing or finishing (plasticizing with indication of the type of plasticizing, varnishing, grooving, punching, perforating, ...),
- method of delivering content for print,
- number of copies (circulation),
- planned delivery date and place.
STANDARD PRINTED PRODUCTS ORDERS
Even when ordering standard printed materials (letterheads, envelopes, etc.), we must provide the selected printing company with a file ready for printing. If this is the first time we are ordering these printed materials and we do not yet have the appropriate file ready, we must order the design.
